Well now, where to begin. There’s so much news it’s hard to know what to tell you first! I guess the best way to do this is chronologically. Alright then, here we go.
This coming Saturday at Stomp it Off! we’ve got Dj’s Larry and Bennett spinning the tunes for everyone to enjoy. Bring a friend and join a whole schwack of people for the 8pm Drop-in Lesson and then dance all night long… well, not quite. But you can stay until 1am. Last weekend was a blast and things won’t be slowing down this Saturday. Put it in your calendar and make a point to get out to the Stomp it Off! swing dance this Saturday, January 16th at the Grandview Legion Hall, 2205 Commercial Drive
Next week is the start of the annual Rhythm City Mess Around hosted by Rhythm City Productions. This thing just keeps getting better every year and it’s one of Vancouver’s most anticipated swing dance events. For 2010, Jungle Swing is very honoured to host one of the biggest dance nights of the year during this outrageously fun event. Saturday, January 23rd the Stomp it Off! dance will be host to The New Orleans Ale Stars, one of Vancouver’s most exciting hot jazz bands. Add to that some amazing competitions, dancers from all over the place AND of course our regular Drop-in Lesson for those in need of a boost. Heck, this one will be a great one for people who want to listen and watch. Make sure you get there early, though. It will be a busy night and we don’t do reservations.
In February there’s this big event hitting town… something to do with winter sports. Anyway, there was a booking with the hall during the games but that fell through. So what does that mean? It means that Stomp it Off! is up and running all of February! All of us at Jungle Swing will be making sure that you have your regular Saturday dance during VanOC’s party. So don’t be shy. Come out to Stomp it Off! all month long in February!
That’s all for now. Make sure to check back next week for more Jungle Swing news.
Cheers,
Darren
