Dec 19, 2009 - The Final Stomp of the Year

Hey all, it’s the last Stomp it Off! of 2009 this evening and I’m hoping many of you make it out to say hi and have a dance before the holidays. It’s been a year of change for Jungle Swing, but in a good way. Because of so many dedicated dancers and new customers, the Stomp it Off! dance is as strong as ever and as a result has offered unparalleled event experiences and production. This is in great part due to the dedication of a number of wonderful people.

First is Adam Konkle for his devotion to quality dance events in Vancouver and his unwavering support of the Stomp it Off! dance. Next, Lucy Falkner for her tireless work in training each new wave of vintage jazz dancers in this city… swing dancing in Vancouver would not be the same without her ongoing efforts at Rhythm City. Next, all the Dj’s who come in and work in such a professional manner, playing great music for all the Vancouver Swing Dancers. Dave Henderson for his vast knowledge of sound enhancement and collection of PA equipment that makes our live music nights so flawless. Nereid Lake, whose unwavering support and constructive criticism never fails to impress. And of course, Brenton Huskins for always being available to pick up new stock on Saturdays.

Of course, the event wouldn’t be anything without the dancers and spectators who show up every Saturday for a great night out. To all of you, thanks and Happy Holidays.

Finally, I know we’re all a little befuddled this time of year with our dinners, parties and goodies, however, let’s give it a final Stomp tonight and send off 2009 with a thump! See you tonight at Stomp it Off!, 2205 Commercial Drive. We’re opening the doors at 7:30pm and the drop

Cheers,
Darren
